Nuclear Medicine Program Information
The degree follows a 2 + 2 model, meaning that our students usually complete two years of prerequisite courses before being admitted into the program's professional phase.
February 1st is the cutoff date for accepting applications for each year. Applications for prospective students are available through the School of Health Professions Student Affairs Office, by contacting Dr. Glen Heggie, Program Director or by downloading the files:

Once a student has met all pre-requisites, they may complete and mail in the application to be considered for acceptance into the Nuclear Medicine Program (for questions regarding your pre-requisites, contact the Student Affairs Office by email or by calling 573-882-8011).
Applications are considered on a competitive basis each admission period. Admission criteria includes:
- Completed application turned in to program director
- Completion of general course prerequisites
- Minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Two letters of recommendation
- Personal interview
We expect international students to know English well enough to:
- Comprehend oral lectures
- Participate in discussions
- Read textbooks with full comprehension
- Write effectively in English
The Test of English As a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
TOEFL is required of every applicant whose native language is not English. A TOEFL score cannot be more than two years old. Our minimum TOEFL score requirement is 600 (paper-based test) or 250 (computer-based test); however, many other departments may have higher requirements.

All accepted students must:
- provide a current immunization record
- complete a criminal background check for all states resided in since the age of 18
- submit to a 5 Panel Drug Test
(the above should be processed during the month of July or August) - have current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers through any AHA (American Heart Association) certified course, this certification must be maintained throughout the entire professional phase of the program
- purchase lab coats, scrubs and other materials for their classroom and clinical training.
