Communication Science & Disorders includes the related but distinct professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. Both offer highly rewarding careers with opportunities to work with a wide variety of clients in an array of work settings. Clinics & Services
The Communication Science & Disorders Department offers the following two services to the community:
MU Speech and Hearing Clinic
The MU Speech and Hearing Clinic provides diagnostic and clinical speech-language services to children and adults with a variety of communication needs. Group and individual therapy sessions are available based on the needs of each client.
The Robert G. Combs Language Preschool
This preschool serves children aged 3 to 5 years with or without speech and language difficulties. MU CSD seniors and graduate students are clinicians for this preschool under the direct supervision of certified faculty.
The MU Accent Modification and Pronunciation Program (AMP)
AMP is a nationally recognized program focusing on interactive, effective communication techniques with nonnative English speakers to improve their pronunciation and intonation of English. Contact Dana Fritz via email or at (573) 882-3873 for more information.
