The search committee, in conjunction with the Provost’s Office and Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, will advertise the position and request nominations for suitable individuals. After a pool of applicants has been developed, the committee will assess credentials of candidates. The committee will likely interview a number of candidates using video conferencing or airport interviews to narrow the pool of applicants to those most suited for the position. The selection process will be strictly confidential up to this point.
Following these initial screening interviews, the committee will select finalists who will be invited to the University of Missouri to interview with the committee and other university and public groups. The committee will contact references on candidates who agree to come to campus to interview. Once on-campus interviews are scheduled, information on the search will become publicly available, and the committee will actively seek the participation of the School’s constituencies for candidate feedback.
Following on-campus interviews, the committee will submit a recommendation to the Provost and Vice Chancellor. The final decision will be made by the Provost and Vice Chancellor in consultation with the Chancellor. The goal is to have a new Dean in place at the start of the 2013-14 academic year.
