Ultrasonography, commonly called sonography, is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body. This type of procedure is often referred to as a sonogram or ultrasound scan. Ultrasonography can be used to examine many parts of the body, such as the abdomen, breasts, female reproductive system, superficial structures, prostate, heart, and blood vessels. More about DMU
How to apply
The undergraduate application deadline is February 1, sophomore year. The graduate application deadline is December 1, sophomore year.
Admissions
Candidates applying to the DMU program must have completed or be in the process of completing appropriate prerequisite credits for the MU-DMU program. Prerequisite courses should be completed before beginning the DMU program for the term of application.
Programs
The Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound (DMU) Program offers a Bachelor of Health Science (BHS) and a Master of Health Science (MHS) in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound. The University of Missouri offers the only MHS in ultrasound in the United States!
