SHP alumni Rachel Boyles and Robyn Price, both MPT ’06, of Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Mo. talk with Rebecca Feezer at one of SHP's past fairs. Rebecca graduated in May, 2007 with a degree in clinical laboratory science.

“Our job fair is such a huge success every year because MU School of Health Professions graduates are in high demand. Employers often compliment the students on being very well prepared and having good interpersonal skills,” says Ruth Crozier, Director of Student Affairs.

The Job Fair is a win-win situation for everyone involved. It gives the students a chance to offer their resumes and have them critiqued by professionals in the field. In return, the corporations get an opportunity to sell their business and hopefully gain a few new highly competent employees. “If the organizations can get at least one student, the cost to attend the Job Fair is worth it,” says Crozier.

Crozier says that the 2009 Job Fair is worth everyone’s time, even students not ready to graduate. “I highly recommend that all students in the School of Health Professions attend the Job Fair. It gives them an opportunity to see what is out there and understand what type of employees the health industry is looking for,” she says.

With the packed room of students and employers, the 2009 School of Health Professions Job Fair is another example of the increasing growth and interest in health care careers and the University of Missouri’s effort to meet the need for outstanding health professionals!
