FAQ - Clinical Education

Q: With how many clinical sites is MU affiliated?

A: We currently have over 250 active affiliation agreements with facilities throughout the United States; more than half of them are located in Missouri. While we feel that students should have a variety of choices available to them when deciding where to complete their clinical rotations, we also emphasize quality clinical education provided at the facilities with which we are affiliated.

Q: How are clinical rotations assigned?

A: We use a lottery system to assign clinical rotations to students.

Q: How do we become a Clinical Education site for the University of Missouri?

A: Contact Dana Martin, Director of Clinical Education, for more information: Phone: 573-882-0401; email: martindan @health.missouri.edu

Q: Is housing provided while on clinical rotations?

A: That depends on the facility. Some facilities provide housing and others do not. While not having housing is a very real obstacle to participating in certain clinical experiences, we encourage students to explore all possible opportunities for housing (family members, friends, family of friends, etc…) in order to take full advantage of clinical education experiences.

Q: What types of clinicals are offered through MU?

A: Our affiliated clinical sites offer a wide variety of experiences to enhance students' education. We are affiliated with sites who provide students with experience in settings including, but not limited to: outpatient; sports medicine; acute care; pediatrics; neurology; aquatics; skilled nursing facilities; rehabilitation units; and day hospitals
